Indoor Plants from Botanicly
This Arecaceae or Palmae has 4,000 different species in the family. Most palms come from the humid tropics of South Africa and South America, where the seeds are bred. The seeds are also exported to other countries where young plants are produced. Different names are used for this palm, e.g. Arecapalm, Dypsis, Goldpalme, Goldobstpalme or Chrysalidocarpus Lutecens (meaning literally yellow).
In tropical areas this palm grows between larger trees, so put it in a light location without direct radiation on my leaves. Here the palm grows well and the leaves become pretty dark green, a window on the north is ideal. The temperature at which the palm feels good is between 18 to 25 ° C. Just as with many types of palms, leaf points can arise at a given moment. Brown leaf tips are often the result of too cold air or a drafty place. In the summer it is good to spray the palm regularly. Especially when I’m standing near a door or window, the palm is extra sensitive to spider mite. The palm does not like a dry soil, but prevents the roots from standing in the water for too long.
