Orchids from Botanicly
In the 19th century, the Cattleya Orchids were the orchids that were first successfully raised by their namesake William Cattley, an orchid lover, and then conquered the hearts of European plant collectors.
The orchids prefer to be placed in a bright spot at room temperatures of 18 to 20 degrees celsius.
Pot orchids do not like wet feet. Once a week the plant should be dipped in water at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes and then well drained.
The Cattleya also does not like draughts and direct sunlight. They also do not like stove or central heating nearby.
Also a fruit bowl nearby is not optimal. Fruits produce gases that cause the flowers to age quickly.
