Orchids from Botanicly
Sanook means ‘enjoy’ in Thai, but also ‘contentment’. This beautiful flower from Thailand is a separate variety of orchid that has become very popular over the past few years. The Blue Happiness is indeed blue. The Thai breeder cross-bred this variety with the aim of enhancing the plant’s vigour and flowering behaviour. The flowering period lasts for at least 6 to 8 weeks.
Place this orchid in a bright spot, but not in direct sunlight. Keep it cool and aerated; you can put it outside in the summer. Water the plant when the soil is almost dry, so once every 7 to 9 days. And regularly mist the youngest buds. Every two weeks, give it a splash of special orchid plant food and add a teaspoon of lime to the potting soil 3 to 4 times a year. Do not fertilise in November, December or January. Refresh the soil once every three years. You can prune the spent branch at the bottom; then a new branch will grow after 8 to 12 months.
