Description

Grass from Botanicly

Why is this plant called ‘cat grass’? Because cats love it. When you have it in your home, your cats will leave your other houseplants in peace. The plant originally comes from East Africa and grows there in marshes. Due to the way the leaf is attached to the stem, it is also called the ‘umbrella plant’. When taken care of properly, the plant will blossom with brown flowerlets.

Care recommendation

Because ‘cat grass’ is a subtropical marsh plant, you need to keep it moist at all times. You can therefore leave it with its ‘feet in the water’ as long as the bottom of the stems stay dry. It also likes to be misted every day with a plant spray. Make sure it gets as much light as possible, but be careful with direct summer sunlight. A spot in a bright kitchen or bathroom is also ideal.
